COINAGE OF WORDS IN 2025
SPREACH (a useful word combining speech, breach, beach, over-reach, preach, and screech)
A word coined on April 15, 2025, Tax Day in America, found in an email dated 4/16/2025 from one sister in Colorado to another in Florida, during a particularly stressful historic tiime period known as the "Spreach Years."
1) An AI glitch in the language of scientific papers embedded so deeply in the algorithms that it is impossible for it to be corrected by carbon-based creatures.
2) Any typo in an email that was not proofread carefully enough; the kind of error both humans and BOTS are prone to, despite all the hype about Gemini from Google.
3) A breach of interpersonal protocol, such as an intimate partner reaching out and touching the screen of their significant other in an attempt to get their attention.
4) Any attempt to give advice in a screechy or preachy tone.
5) Any excuse given to cover up the fact that procrastination is at the root of the breach in communication.
6) A spread sheet created in one day to make up for not keeping better records and the ensuring melt-down when it came time to fix supper.
7) A disappointing vacation at the beach.
USAGE: That SNAFU was a class-A spreach (a reference meaning a "digital fossil" such as the phrase "vegetative electron microscopy," that began creeping into scientific papers due to an AI glitch.
